Cara must have said, “Happy BIRTHDAY, Daddy!” a thousand times this morning before Brian even made it out the door. I think she’s a tad more excited about it than he is. He already bought himself the present he wanted (the navigation computer for his telescope), so it was hard to come up with something to surprise him with. Liam and I went to the bookstore yesterday and found William Gibson’s new Spook Country, and Neil Gaiman’s M Is For Magic. The kids and I have been working hard all day to clean the house and make cards for him, etc. Cindy and John are bringing dinner, and Cara and I picked up mint-chocolate-chip ice cream at the grocery store this afternoon!  That will have to do for surprises. As Evan put it this morning, “Mommy, now you and Daddy are THE SAME AGE!”
